The Design Studio is where your home becomes yours. It's a dedicated showroom where you'll work one-on-one with a professional Design Consultant to select the finishes and features for your new home. You'll see and touch real samples of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, lighting, fixtures, and more — all in one place. Each major metro area Fischer Homes serves has its own Design Studio for convenient access.
Fischer Homes offers extensive personalization options. During your Design Studio appointment, you can select:
- Cabinetry, countertops, and backsplashes
- Flooring, carpet, and tile finishes
- Lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware
- Paint colors, trim, and exterior details
- Smart home and energy-efficient upgrades
The options available depend on your floorplan and home collection, but every buyer has the opportunity to make their home uniquely theirs.
The design process begins after you've signed your purchase agreement and selected your homesite and floorplan. Before your official Design Studio appointment, you'll have the chance to attend a Preview Day to explore the showroom and start narrowing down your preferences. Your formal appointment is then scheduled with a Design Consultant who will guide you through every selection.
The time needed varies based on your home's design and collection. Most appointments range from a half day to two full days. For Masterpiece Collection homes and above, a second appointment — called the Blueprint Review — is included to make sure every detail is exactly right.
A little preparation goes a long way. Before your appointment, we recommend:
- Visiting a Fischer Homes model to see finishes and layouts in person
- Using the online Design Visualizer to experiment with colors, materials, and combinations
- Browsing inspiration on Pinterest, Instagram, or TikTok for current trends
- Reviewing your budget — while your contract covers the base price, some selections may come with additional costs

The Design Visualizer is a free online tool that lets you explore Fischer Homes finishes and selections from your own device. You can choose a floorplan, then experiment with flooring, cabinets, paint colors, and more to see how different combinations look together in context. You can also start with one of our Inspired Designs — curated style packages based on trends like Modern Farmhouse, Coastal, Mid Century Modern, and others. It's a great way to build confidence before your Design Studio appointment.
Inspired Designs are professionally curated finish combinations that take the guesswork out of coordinating your selections. Each one is built around a specific design style — such as Coastal, Industrial, Mid Century Modern, Modern Farmhouse, Traditional, or Urban Modern. You can use an Inspired Design as your starting point and personalize it from there, or simply use it as inspiration to discover what style resonates with you.
Yes. Every Fischer Homes buyer is paired with a Design Consultant who is an expert on your floorplan and up to date on the latest design trends. They'll guide you through every selection — from exterior details to interior finishes — and help you make choices that are cohesive, on trend, and tailored to how you live. You're never making decisions alone.
Design Studio hours and accessibility vary by location. Contact your Sales Counselor to ask about a Preview Tour or virtual visit. You can also start exploring online anytime using the Design Visualizer or by taking a 360 Virtual Tour of one of our model homes to see finished selections in a real space.
Your contract includes a base price that covers standard selections for your home. Some upgrades and premium finishes may come with additional costs. Your Sales Counselor and Design Consultant will walk you through pricing as you make your selections so there are no surprises. We recommend reviewing your budget ahead of your appointment so you can make confident decisions about where to invest.
Because your selections are used to order materials and coordinate construction, changes after your appointment may be limited. That's why the Preview Day, Design Visualizer, and your Design Consultant are all there to help you feel confident before you finalize. If you do need to make a change, reach out to your Sales Counselor as soon as possible to discuss what's still possible within your timeline.
