Building Process Frequently Asked Questions

On average, Fischer Homes builds are completed in 6–8 months once construction begins. The timeline can vary depending on:

  • Floorplan size and complexity
  • Customization and design selections
  • Local permitting and approvals
  • Weather conditions and site preparation

If you need a faster timeline, ask about our Quick Move-In Homes — homes already under construction or completed and available within weeks.

Yes. Fischer Homes offers extensive personalization opportunities at our Lifestyle Design Studio. With the guidance of our professional designers, you can select:

  • Cabinetry, countertops, and backsplashes
  • Flooring, carpet, and tile finishes
  • Lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware
  • Paint colors and trim packages
  • Smart home and energy-efficient upgrades

Every choice is designed to reflect your personal style and fit your lifestyle.

After signing, the process moves into the exciting stages of personalization and construction:

  1. Design Selections — Visit the Lifestyle Design Studio to choose your finishes with the help of a professional designer.
  2. Financing — Finalize your loan with Victory Mortgage, including locking in your rate and terms.
  3. Construction Begins — You'll be introduced to your Field Manager, who will guide you through every stage of the build and keep you updated along the way.

Every Fischer Homes buyer is paired with a Field Manager who serves as your dedicated guide throughout the build. Your Field Manager will:

  • Provide construction updates at each major milestone
  • Answer questions about your home's progress
  • Walk you through the pre-drywall and final walkthroughs
  • Ensure a smooth handoff at closing

You'll always know who to contact and what's happening with your home.

The pre-drywall walkthrough is one of the most valuable steps in the Fischer Homes building process. It takes place after your home is framed but before the drywall is installed, giving you a chance to:

  • See the layout of your home's electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Verify the placement of outlets, switches, and fixtures
  • Confirm that structural elements match your expectations

This walkthrough gives you visibility into the quality behind your walls before everything is sealed up.

Before closing day, you'll complete a final walkthrough of your finished home with your Field Manager. This is your opportunity to:

  • Review every room and confirm that finishes match your selections
  • Test fixtures, appliances, and systems
  • Note any items that need attention before you take ownership

Your Field Manager will document everything and make sure any outstanding items are addressed.

Fischer Homes maintains high standards at every stage of construction. Your home goes through multiple quality checkpoints, including inspections at key milestones and a dedicated Field Manager overseeing the build from start to finish. The pre-drywall and final walkthroughs also give you direct visibility into the craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into your home.

While Fischer Homes works to keep every build on schedule, factors like weather, material availability, or permitting can sometimes cause adjustments to the timeline. If a delay occurs, your Field Manager will communicate the update and revised timeline so you can plan accordingly. Keeping you informed is a priority throughout the process.

Closing day is when everything comes together. Here's what to expect:

  • You'll sign your final loan documents with Victory Mortgage.
  • You'll complete any remaining paperwork with your Sales Counselor.
  • You'll receive the keys to your new home.
  • Your Customer Care team will introduce themselves and walk you through warranty coverage, the Homeowner Portal, and how to reach them after move-in.

It's the finish line of the building process — and the start of life in your new Fischer Home.
